This book is a collection of some 6,000 mathematical theorems, most of them without proof. From then on Ramanujan was not doing well at the University mobile number list of Madras. Clerk in Madras Ramanujan never completed university studies. Instead, he was fortunate that R. Ramachandra Rao, a benefactor interested in mathematics, granted him a stipend. This enabled Ramanujan to work undisturbed. It didn't take much though. Ramachandra Rao wrote “A short, clumsy appearance, unshaven, not very clean, with one striking feature – radiant eyes – entered with a frayed notebook under his arm.
